Downspout Drain Systems

It is important to get water as far away from your home’s foundation as possible. The average downspout dumps water directly next to your homes footing which can cause water to leak into your foundation and the lower areas of your home like a basement or crawl space. With a downspout drainage system, water is diverted at least 10 feet away from your home so that there is no danger of it entering your homes foundation. Our downspout drainage systems consist of high-quality PVC pipe connected to your existing downspout then placed into a trench and connected to a pop-up emitter.

French Drains

French drains provide an easy channel for water to flow through. Water runs into a gravel-filled trench and then into perforated pipe at the bottom of the trench. Water travels freely through the pipe, which empties a safe distance from your home.

The trench bottom should be sloped about 1 inch for every 8 feet in the direction you want water to flow. Depending on your situation, the water can be diverted to:

  • A low-lying area of your property
  • A drainage ditch
  • A dry well
  • The street
  • Sump pump pit

No matter what your needs, we have a drainage solution for you.

Dry Well Drainage Systems

A dry-well is either a structure with holes in it that is installed in the ground or a hole filled with gravel. The purpose of a dry-well is to collect water & disperse it into the ground over a period of time. Dry wells are useful in situation where there is nowhere to drain water on or off the property or where it is necessary to retain water on the property. How successful a dry-well performs is dependent on the percolation of water through the soil. While clay soils tend to hold water for long periods of time, sandy soils drain water rapidly. Our team of experts will assess your needs and offer the right solution to fit your needs.

Regrading

Sometimes water can be diverted out of your yard by grading the yard in the direction we want it to flow. Depending on the situation we can also replace clay soils with clean drainable fill dirt. There are a few signs to look for when considering if your yard needs to be regraded:

  • Water pooling around the perimeter of your home’s foundation.
  • Pooling of water on your sidewalks or driveways. This pooling can cause mold and mildew growth, as well as cracking of these surfaces.
  • Areas in your yard where mold or fungus tend to grow. These are signs that water may continually pool there. These areas can attract mosquitoes and other water-loving pests.
  • Areas of your yard that may have become compacted over time from settling or repeated foot traffic. In these areas, you may find that no matter what you do, nothing grows.

If you have any of the issues listed above, give us a call at 410-505-0418 to schedule a free consultation.

Outdoor Sump Pumps & Sump Pump Pits

Outdoor sump pump drainage systems are great at relocating water quickly during emergency situations, such as storms or flooding. However, they are not a magic bullet for solving your drainage problem at its source. With that in mind, it’s best to use sump pumps in conjunction with other long-term yard drainage solutions. These include waterproofing tools like perimeter drain pipes, dry wells, and French drains.

Testimonials

“We had an issue with our backyard flooding after every rainfall. The water would sit for days and make that section of our yard unusable. We contacted 4 different landscaping companies to discuss options. Two of those companies were unable to offer any solutions to our problem. Brandon from Precision Landscaping was by far the most knowledgeable about this type of problem and the ways to fix it…Months later, Brandon still checks in to make sure the system is still working. Brandon has been a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend him to anyone with flooding issues in their yard.”
